Haley Practicing Basketball, Canada
Although the house is huge (eight bedrooms), there is very, very, little yardspace. In fact what you see here is the only useable space outside the house. There is a basketball hoop set up and Haley, true to her word, is practicing. She tells me she made 11 free throws in a row. Nice!
Rose and Annie at the Beach, Canada
For this time, Annie splits off from Haley. She goes to the beach with Rose and Danny while Haley heads out with the college kids to go swimming.
In the Kitchen, Canada
Cora and Johnny have a house with eight bedrooms. Foreign students then board there while going to college. The girl next to Haley is famous in Japan. Not sure what for, and not sure why everyone holds up two fingers. Maybe for "peace" sign?

Zucchini Quiche
Not to be outdone by potatoes, here's a picture of a zucchine quiche I made today using zucchini from the folk's farm. Last fall I froze bags with 3 cups each of zucchini. Now all I need do is thaw the bags and put in the rest of the ingredients. Here you see zucchini with chopped ham and onion. Delicious!
Potato Tribute
yeah, I know. Kind of weird having a picture of potatoes amongst all our people photos. But I am so happy that we have these potatoes from the folk's place. Pretty amazing that Haley and I planted seed potatoes last June, dug potatoes this last November, and now we still have plenty to eat! And, let me tell you, they are great tasting too! So there you have it, my tribute to potatoes.

Showing Her Free Throw Form
At the free throw line. (irony: This is Sallye Alexander's clinic and for this past season Haley has been emulating Sallye's shooting release. Many, many times in our practices at the park I would be shouting, "Sallye Alexander, Sallye Alexander!", to get her to follow through on her shot release. Now she does!)
Haley Takes On Sallye
Haley, putting a move on local celebrity Sallye Alexander. Sallye is the star post player for the Forest Grove, "Lady Vikings" basketball team. She received a scholarship to attend Humbolt State University, California. This evening she put on a post player's clinic. She invited Haley, telling her it was good to know all the positions. Love At The Beach
If you click on this picture you will see that written in the sand is, "Nick (heart) Cindy". Well Annie just squatted over Cindy so, "Nick (heart) Annie!" [the real Cindy is just beyond Annie, and looks a little confused as to why someone is stepping on her lover's artwork.]
okay, okay, I shoulda taken the picture when all was pristine, but this is the only full picture of the room I have. The website for the hotel said there were vcr's in each room so I brought a couple of taped movies along. It turns out the room has a dvd player. Didn't bring any dvds along. But all is well, they have cable tv and it was very nice!
The view out our window while staying this weekend in Seaside. Haley is playing in her last basketball tournament for the season (they took second place). We stayed at the, "Ebb Tide" motel in a new wing. I liked to keep the sliding glass door cracked so I could smell the salt air and hear the ocean (okay, and the sea gulls!).

Highlights of Pete Maravic's 68-point game
"Pistol Pete" Maravich is a great inspiration to Haley. She has his "Basketball Homework" sessions and is incorporating them into her workout schedule.
