Haley... Friday the 13th... In 3D
Today Haley went with Annaliese and Liz to Washington Square over by Tigard. There, she bought a pair of big hoop earrings and this brown t-shirt. According to her they were both on sale (Way to Go!).
Click this picture and tell me if this is not cool or what!
Picturecloud is a free service to make 360 degree photos. Simply take 20 to 30 low res pictures around a subject (oh, Haley, you are so lucky), then upload them to picturecloud. They stitch the pictures together and give you the code to be pasted into the webpage. The picture is then hosted by them for one year, or for a small fee (like a dollar) you can get the file for your own keeping. For the same fee you can make other additions like larger format. Enjoy!

Ice Cream at the Tillamook Cheese Factory
Here is Haley at the Tillamook Cheese factory in Tillamook. We went there right after she played soccer. (She made her first goal of the season! Congrats!)

Okay, the secret three scoops... peaches and cream (Haley's Fave), Chocolate-Peanutbutter, and my favorite, Marionberry Cheesecake! We ate and slurped this on our way home. Also, the reason this picture is in black and white is Haley was messing around with camera settings while on her school field trip to Mt. St. Helens. grrr...

Lori Here From Arizona, We Go To Beach!

Haley, Annie, Lori, Mom, Dad, and I went to Lincoln City today. It was a fun trip! While the weather was in the 90's at home, it was foggy, cool, and windy at the beach. And the casino was awesome (especially the buffet! They had the best salmon and salmon chowder. Very, very good!)
So why this picture? While the others remained in the casino, Haley and I went down on the beach. Unfortunately, it was super windy! I had a little tiny tent I was going to use as a sun shade while Haley ejoyed walking along the water. But because of the wind Haley tucked herself inside and I got this picture. Too bad I forgot to get everyone together for a group picture. I'll remember next time!

Soccer Haley!

From Monday, August 14 through Thursday, August 17, 2006, Haley was at the soccer camp put on by Forest Grove High School. The school's coach, Mike Hernandez, was there everyday. Haley was the only 8th grader there (grades 4-8), but because she is new to soccer and wanting to learn the basics it turned out very well for her.
There were high school girls there that worked with Haley. Also, today, the last day of camp, Haley begins her soccer season...practice at Lincoln Park. Roger Vandecouevering is her new coach.

Washington County Fair

After getting back from camping at Timothy Lake, Annie volunteered to work at the Washington County Fair. Haley invited friend Robin and we all headed over. This is a picture of three bumblebees on a flower in the garden section (I always get new ideas by visiting there). The girls enjoyed walking around, got phony tatoos (why?!), and most enjoyed the Avon booth where they got to try new kinds of makeup.
At 5 pm, Annie finished and we went to the hypnotist display. It was fun to watch, but is it for real? Don't know, I certainly wouldn't want to be a participant. Robin tried out, but after being up on the stage she was sent back to sit down with us. All in all, a good time!

Bitter Melon Beauty!

An interesting little plant, this is what Annie calls "bitter melon". I saw some of the vegetables at the Saturday Market in Hillsboro and they call them bitter cucumbers. Either way, I really like how these plants grow. They love to climb. You can see their curly-kew shoots in this picture. Wish we would have planted earlier though, still no vegetables!

Marionberry Heaven!
Zucchini Heaven!
From the folk's farm, we have an abundance of delicious zucchini. They make delicious quiche! Here's a quick little recipe you will love:
Zucchini Quiche
-3 cups shredded zucchini-1/2 cup grated cheese
-1 cup Bisquick (we use flour, just as good!)
-1/2 cup chopped onion
-1/2 cup oil
-4 beaten eggs
-1/2 tsp. seasoned salt (we just sprinkle a bit of salt on the grated zuke while the other ingredients are being prepared. Then we squeeze excess water the salt has pulled out of the lump of grated zucchini).
Preheat oven to 350. Mix all ingredients. Bake in greased dish 30-40 minutes until golden brown. Cut into squares. (I also admit to adding a bit more grated cheese and Annie loves to chop ham and put in too!)
The result? Plenty of quiche!
